Fall Practice Begins: Suffield's Team Title History, 2023 Schedules

SUFFIELD, CT — Fall sports practices officially begin today at Connecticut high schools, with hundreds of teams setting out on their quests for league and state championships.

Among schools in Patch communities in Hartford and Tolland counties, Glastonbury is the all-time leader with 42 fall team championships, followed by Farmington (36), Granby Memorial (33), E.O. Smith (30) and Manchester (29).

Area teams looking to repeat their 2022 state titles are Hall boys cross country (State Open and LL), Glastonbury girls cross country (State Open and LL), Somers girls cross country (S), Ellington boys soccer (M), East Catholic girls soccer (S) and RHAM girls volleyball (M).

Two new head coaches will take over programs at Suffield. Chase Lambert will guide the field hockey team, while Caitlin Howes will coach girls cross country.
