High School Fall Team Sports Championship History: Where Does Suffield Stand?

SUFFIELD, CT — The first team state championships of the fall 2016 season have been decided, and with more state tournaments upcoming over the next few weeks, Patch decided to take a look at the title history in the eight fall sports, both statewide and locally.

We will analyze state titles won in boys and girls cross country, field hockey, football, boys and girls soccer, girls swimming and girls volleyball. Please note: we are only counting team championships won in cross country and swimming, with both class titles and State Open crowns included; individual event champions are not included.

Here is the breakdown of the top 10 for each fall sport, including Suffield's titles where applicable (on a special note, Suffield boys soccer has won at least one state title in each of the past seven decades).
