Janet S. Roberts, 89; Retired Suffield Elementary School Teacher

Janet S. Roberts, 89, of West Suffield, passed away peacefully in her home on Friday, May 15, 2015 surrounded by her loving family and caregivers.

She was the beloved wife of the late John H. Roberts.

Janet is survived by her daughters, Deborah Winter and husband David (Joe), Susan Hastings and husband Larry, and Kathryn Roberts; as well as three grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren, all of Suffield.

She was born in Longmeadow, MA on September 17, 1925 and married John on September 15, 1951.

Janet enjoyed a long career as a second-grade teacher in Suffield. After retirement, Janet and John traveled around the country in their RV to nearly every state, including Alaska. They wintered for many years in Gulf Shores, AL where they made numerous friends.

A Celebration of Life Service in honor of Janet and John will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, May 30, 2015 at the First Church of Christ Congregational Suffield, followed a Reception in the Church Hall.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the St. Francis Hospital Foundation, 95 Woodland St. Hartford, CT 06105. Heritage Funeral Home 1240 Mountain Road, West Suffield, has care of the arrangements.
