Julianne Merrell, 67; Retired School Teacher Who Was a Lifelong Suffield Resident

Calling hours will be held Monday, June 15 with a memorial service scheduled for Tuesday, June 16.

Julianne Merrell, 67, of Suffield, beloved wife of Arthur R. Merrell, passed away at home surrounded by her loving family on Sunday, June 7, 2015.

Born September 20, 1947 in Brooklyn, NY daughter of the late William Taylor, Jr. and Anne (Duda) Taylor.

She lived in Suffield all her life. Julie was a teacher for Oliver Ellsworth School in Windsor before retiring. She enjoyed going to the Bushnell, working with her plants and flowers, interior decorating and travelling, but most of all spending time with her grandchildren.

Besides her husband Arthur, she is survived by her son, John Merrell and his wife Julie of Glastonbury; her daughter, Courtney Wilson and her husband John of Portland; a brother, William Taylor of Suffield; three grandchildren Hunter, Shane and Luke; three sisters-in-law, Diane Lapent of Granby, Holly Merrell of Suffield, Helen Bushnell and her husband Rob of Broad Brook; many nieces and nephews; and special friends, Sue and Bev.

She was predeceased by brothers-in-law, Mort Merrell and Scott Lapent; a special loved ones, Helen and Chuck Hogan.

Her family will receive friends Monday, June 15, from 4-7 PM at Nicholson & Carmon Funeral Home, 443 East St. N. (Rt. 159), Suffield. A memorial service will be held Tuesday, June 16,, 11 AM, at Second Baptist Church, 100 N. Main St., Suffield.
