Longtime Suffield Coach Elected to State Hall of Fame

He and nine other individuals will be inducted into the Connecticut High School Coaches Association Hall of Fame in November.

SUFFIELD, CT — A longtime Suffield High School coach is among 10 individuals who will be honored at the 41st annual Connecticut High School Coaches Association Hall of Fame ceremony this fall.

Joseph Sinicrope coached boys indoor track for 44 years at Suffield from 1972-2015, and girls indoor track from 1977-2015. He also coached boys outdoor track for 25 years and boy and girls for eight. His total coaching record was 410-154. His teams won two girls outdoor track state championships and one each in boys outdoor, boys indoor and girls indoor, along with 19 league titles. He was a National Coach of the Year finalist in 2010.

Coaches Jaye Stuart (Shepaug Valley, Litchfield), Robert Marcella (Holy Cross), Albert Dadario (Avon), Bill Cardarelli (Saint Thomas Aquinas), Mary Michailidis (Stamford) and the late Will Hunter (Conard), athletic director/coaches Tracy Nichols (Trinity Catholic) and John H. Schiffner (Plainfield) and media member Lori Riley (Hartford Courant) will also be inducted.

The induction dinner will take place Nov. 16 at the Aqua Turf in Southington at 7 p.m. Tickets for the dinner are $46, and are available in advance by contacting the CHSCA office at P.O.
