A Look at Suffield's Winter Sports Team Title History

SUFFIELD, CT — As practices for high school winter sports officially get underway Monday (girls basketball and wrestling) and next Saturday (boys basketball, ice hockey, indoor track, boys swimming and girls gymnastics), hopes run high for all teams to achieve the ultimate goal: winning a state championship.

To help squads get into the championship mentality, here is a listing of the eight CIAC winter team titles won by Suffield High School in past years (* - indicates a co-op team).

• ice hockey (3) - Div. II: 2015*, 2000, 1979
• boys basketball (3) - Class S: 2000, 1985, 1960
• girls indoor track (1) - Class S: 2000
• boys indoor track (1) - Class S: 1999
