Michael W. Sokol, 87; Suffield Resident Who Owned The Sokol Insurance Agency for More Than 50 Years
Calling hours are scheduled for Monday, Dec. 15 with the funeral to be held on Tuesday, Dec. 16.

Michael W. Sokol, 87, of Suffield, husband of the late Jennie (Grabowicz) Sokol, passed away on December 10, 2014.
He was born in Stafford Springs on July 2, 1927, son of the late Michael and Sadie (Cybulski) Sokol and lived in both Enfield and Suffield.

He was a U.S. Naval Veteran. Michael was a communicant of St. Joseph’s Church, a member of the American Legion, a former member of Rotary Club, and was a graduate of UCONN. Michael was a self-employed insurance agent and owner of The Sokol Insurance Agency for over 50 years, retiring in 2005.
He is survived by three sons, William Sokol and Laura Celentano of South Windsor, Daniel and Ann Marie Sokol of Marlborough, and Chris Sokol of Suffield; one daughter Pamela and Dennis Sylvester of Enfield; one brother Robert and Rose Sokol of Enfield; four grandchildren, Tara Sylvester, Matthew Sokol, Nicholas Sokol, and Katherine Sokol.

He was predeceased by a brother, Walter Sokol and a sister, Mary Ann Carzello.
The Funeral Services will be on Tuesday, December 16 at 9 a.m. from The Heritage Funeral Home 1240 Mountain Road, West Suffield; with a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Joseph Church, Suffield at 10 a.m. Burial will follow with Military Honors in St. Adalbert’s Cemetery, Enfield.
Friends may call at the funeral home on Monday, December 15, from 4 to 7 p.m.
