Clarkson University, Potsdam NY

  • Peter James Connolly of Suffield, a freshman majoring in mechanical engineering, was named to the Dean's List for the spring 2017 semester at Clarkson University. Dean's List students must achieve a minimum 3.25 grade-point average and also carry at least 14 credit hours.

  • A group of honors students from Eastern Connecticut State University spent 10 days in Costa Rica this May for a field course that examined the country's rich biodiversity and developing agricultural industry. Among the travelers from Eastern was Michele D'Agata of West Suffield, who majors in Sport & Leisure Management.
  • Twenty students from the Department of Kinesiology and Physical Education at Eastern Connecticut State University were inducted into the Alpha Chapter of the Alpha Upsilon Chi (AUC) honor society this spring 2017 semester. AUC is the international honor society for health, physical education, recreation, sport and dance, and was established to recognize college students for their academic achievement and professional involvement in the field. Among the inductees was Michele D'Agata of West Suffield, who majors in Sport & Leisure Management. D'Agata was additionally recognized for Outstanding Academic Achievement within the sport and leisure major.

Georgia Institute of Technology, Atlanta GA

  • Adam Doherty of Suffield has earned a Master of Science in Computer Science from the Georgia Institute of Technology in Atlanta. Doherty was among approximately 3,800 undergraduate and graduate students who received degrees during Georgia Tech's 253rd Commencement exercises on May 5-6, 2017, at the McCamish Pavilion.

  • Daniel Bahl, Jillian Consolini, Julian Frare, Colton Grob, Alexa Pallotti and Trevor Viets of Suffield have been named to the dean's list for the spring 2017 semester.

  • Suffield residents Abbe Carreira and Noemy Ruiz have been named to the dean's list for the spring 2017 semester.

University of Delaware, Newark DE

  • Keith Medwid of West Suffield has been named to the University of Delaware's Dean's List for the spring 2017 semester. To meet eligibility requirements for the Dean's List, a student must be enrolled full-time and earn a GPA of 3.33 or above (on a 4.0 scale) for the semester.

University of Hartford, West Hartford CT

  • The University of Hartford is pleased to announce the following students from Suffield have been named to the Dean's List for spring 2017: Ross Adams, Clarissa Burke, Dante Maisano, Ashley Robidoux, Shayla Mattesen, Yonina Bykov, Joshua Karam, Dominique Waite, Catherine Gleason, John Tittarelli and Thomas Currier.

University of Scranton, Scranton PA

  • Timothy A. Dodds of Suffield was among more than 1,600 students who were named to The University of Scranton's Dean's List for the 2017 spring semester. The Dean's List recognizes students for academic excellence. A student must have a grade point average of 3.5 or better with a minimum number of credit hours during the semester to make the Dean's List. Dodds is a junior psychology major in the University's College of Arts and Sciences.

Western New England University, Springfield MA

  • Western New England University's Stageless Players presented their spring production of Disney's "Beauty and the Beast." This event is sponsored by Student Senate, Office of Student Activities and Leadership Development, Department of Arts and Humanities, and the Alumni Association. Suffield residents involved in the production were Sarah E. Pyfrom-Stephens (Program and Poster Design) and Mark M. Shelanskas (Maurice's Contraption and Running/Stage Crew).
