SUFFIELD, CT — Police have filed additional charges against a pair of men suspected of involvement in a series of shoplifting incidents at a CVS Pharmacy this spring.

Last Thursday, Suffield police arrested Jeremiah Fitzgerald, 26, at Enfield Superior Court on two separate arrest warrants relating to his role in the shoplifting spree, which took place during April and May.

Fitzgerald had been located and arrested on Aug. 1, 2017, and has remained in the custody of the Connecticut Department of Corrections since that date. He was arrested at court and arraigned on that date as well. He remains incarcerated in the custody of the Department of Corrections, Capt. Chris McKee said.

On Friday, Suffield police officers went to Hartford Community Court and charged Randall Layne, 27, on two separate arrest warrants as he appeared in court there. Layne had been located and taken into custody the evening prior, based upon two previous unrelated arrest warrants held by the Hartford Police Department, McKee said.

Layne was then surrendered to the Enfield Police Department, which held an arrest warrant for him for sixth-degree larceny and illegal use of a credit card, McKee said.
