More Thefts Reported From Unlocked Vehicles in Suffield: PD
Groups of people are searching for unlocked vehicles, then stealing items from them, according to the Suffield Police Department.

SUFFIELD, CT — Suffield police have issued another reminder to residents about locking their vehicles following another spate of thefts late Monday night into Tuesday morning.
Several thefts from unlocked vehicles occurred in the areas of Second Street, Branch Road and the Suffield Meadows area.
"This is a crime issue which is impacting the entire region. Locking your doors is a simple, quick way to protect your property," police stated on their Facebook page.

Video indicates a vehicle drives into the area and three to four persons fan out in neighborhoods to find unlocked cars to steal from. One person remains in the driver seat ready to drive away, according to police.
Anyone noticing any suspicious activity in town is asked to call (860) 668-3870, or 9-1-1 if the act is in progress.

"PLEASE call us right away if you see or hear anything unusual as this improves our ability to locate and apprehend the suspects and recover the stolen property. Contacting SPD in the morning or trying to follow the suspects then call the police upon returning home, is not the best way to assist us in this community wide problem," the Facebook post reads.
