New Suffield K-9 Rico Tracks Suspect On 1st Deployment: Police

SUFFIELD, CT — New Suffield police K-9 Rico helped officers find the driver of an abandoned vehicle after leaving the scene of a crash, according to police.

Police said K-9 Rico was “put to work on his first track deployment following an evading motor vehicle accident.”

“The involved vehicle fled the scene and was later located abandoned,” Suffield police wrote in a post on Facebook. “After establishing a starting point, a track was conducted from the vehicle, which ultimately led officers directly to the operator. The individual was located and taken into custody without incident.

“Great work by K-9 Rico and the assisting Officers. Solid teamwork and a strong start for our newest K-9 team.”
