The Parks and Recreation Department's Bowling Buddies say goodbye to winter! Written by: Donna Carney-Bastrzycki

The Parks and Recreation Dept.'s End of Winter Party was a Hit!

The Bowling Buddies Outing group said goodbye to winter at our annual end of Winter/St. Patrick’s day celebration. The event began in the festively decorated Town Hall meeting room. The group enjoyed the party that was filled with excellent food, fun crafts and great company. This year, we decided to have Chinese food for the celebration and the take out from Suffield’s own, Pacifica Restaurant was fabulous. Traditional favorites were enjoyed and we send many thanks to the Pacifica staff for donating some tasty crab Rangoon to add to our feast.

After the Town hall celebrations, the group loaded in the van and headed off to the 2nd Baptist Church for the March Fellowship Night. This is a fantastic collaboration with 2nd Baptist Church volunteers-led by Jean Aldrich Jones and Tina Berrien, Gail Davis, Trish Jackson, Scott Miller, Derek Burnaford, Laura Vindigni and The Parks and Recreation Department. Around forty participants enjoyed singing traditional and popular songs, St. Patrick’s Day crafts and delicious refreshments. The Fellowship nights hosted by the church and volunteers are a blast and are held on the second Monday of every month from September-June. It is a night filled with fun, which is non-denominational and welcomes everyone. It is a terrific collaboration that members of the Parks and Recreation Bowling Buddies Group thoroughly enjoys attending. The smiles, good times had and camaraderie from the group bring warmth even to the coldest end of winter days!
