Pedestrian Seriously Injured In Suffield Crash

SUFFIELD, CT — A pedestrian was seriously injured after being struck by a vehicle Saturday night on North Main Street, police said.

Suffield police began receiving reports of the crash near 142 North Main St. around 7:32 p.m. Police, firefighters and members of the Suffield Volunteer Ambulance Association responded and found the pedestrian lying off the roadway with injuries consistent with being hit by a vehicle.

The pedestrian was treated at the scene and taken to Hartford Hospital with serious injuries. The vehicle and its driver were still at the scene when emergency crews arrived, according to police.

The driver remained at the scene and is cooperating with the investigation.

North Main Street was closed for about four hours while the North Central Municipal Accident Reconstruction Team documented and processed the scene.

Police have not released the names of the pedestrian or driver while relatives are notified. No further information was available Sunday morning.
