SUFFIELD, CT — The Suffield Library has had many of the town's high school yearbooks digitized and available for viewing on the website archive.org. Inside the pages are wonderful memories of school days past, but also a look at some local businesses of the time.

In this periodic feature column, we will revisit those local institutions which supported the students via yearbook advertisements. Our first offering was published 45 years ago, from page 198 of the 1978 yearbook, Sagitta - an ad from Suffield Auto Center.

Located on Route 159 at 1106 East Street South, the garage was built in 1956, according to town property records. In 1976, it was purchased by Thomas Doane, a 1959 graduate of Suffield High School. Harold Schneider bought the property in 1980, then in 1998, it was acquired by a limited liability company headed by Doane's son, Richard.
