Second Amendment Rights Group Endorses Tom Foley For CT Governor

Gov. Dannel P. Malloy's campaign labeled the group as extremists.

A Second Amendment Rights group, Connecticut Citizens Defense League, endorsed Tom Foley, a Republican, for Connecticut governor.

Foley has said as governor he would repeal the state’s strict gun laws that Gov. Dannel P. Malloy helped get approved by the General Assembly, NBC Connecticut reported.

Connecticut Citizens Defense League is a very outspoken group that came to the forefront after the General Assembly passed strong gun control laws after the Sandy Hook Elementary School shooting tragedy.

Foley’s campaign welcomed the endorsement with a spokesperson saying the CCDL was bullied by Malloy, and Malloy’s campaign said the endorsement was nothing more than an extremist group supporting Foley, NBC Connecticut reported.
