Unfinished Suffield Roads Prompt A $416,000 Move
Officials and the developer disagree over pavement repairs at Kings Meadow.
SUFFIELD, CT — Selectmen voted unanimously Oct. 21 to call a $416,000 performance bond over unfinished work at the Kings Meadow subdivision off East Street South.
Hamlet Homes LLC missed an Aug. 15, 2025, completion deadline, Planning and Development Director Bill Hawkins reported, according to Board of Selectmen meeting minutes.
The developer and paving contractor considered about 95 percent of the existing base pavement suitable for final paving. Town consulting engineer Dana Steele cited cracking, uneven surfaces and inadequate width, recommending replacement or rebuilding.
