Suffield Crash Involving Bus and Truck Sends 21 to Hospitals
The crash closed a portion of Mountain Road Tuesday morning.

SUFFIELD, CT — A collision between a pickup truck and a bus carrying tobacco workers Tuesday morning resulted in 21 people being transported to area hospitals with various minor injuries, Capt. Christopher McKee said.
The collision took place around 5:53 a.m. on Route 168, also known as Mountain Road, between North Stone Street and Phelps Road. That stretch of roadway was closed while authorities undertook an investigation.
All of the tobacco workers are over the age of 18, and none of the injuries appear life-threatening, McKee said.

The incident is under investigation by the Suffield Police Department, assisted by inspectors from the Commercial Motor Vehicle Safety Division of the Connecticut Department of Motor Vehicles.
