Suffield Drivers Can Expect Delays

Traffic will be reduced to one lane near 906 South Grand St. as Connecticut Water's larger infrastructure project continues.

SUFFIELD, CT — Motorists should expect delays on South Grand Street near 906 South Grand St. next week, when milling and paving work will reduce traffic to one lane for two days.

The work is planned for Thursday, July 23, and Friday, July 24. Drivers are urged to use caution and allow extra travel time through the area, according to a Town of Suffield notice.

The paving comes as Connecticut Water continues a larger water-main replacement project on South Grand Street.

The utility said it is replacing about 2,400 feet of existing water main with 8-inch ductile iron pipe, along with three hydrants and connections to 63 homes. The work is intended to improve water flow and system reliability.

Connecticut Water lists the project as continuing through October, with regular construction hours of 7 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. weekdays. The utility said customers would receive at least 24 hours' notice before any planned service interruption.
