Big Smiles were all around when the Suffield Fire Department visited the Parks and Recreation Department's Kids Korner Camp!

Big smiles were on everyone's faces when the Suffield Fire Department's fire truck pulled up to McAlister School yesterday for a special visit with the Suffield Parks and Recreation Department's Kids Korner/Morning Munchkins Camp! The campers were delighted to learn more about the Fire Department, fire safety tips and to have hands on fun. The campers even got to tour and learn about the entire fire truck with Firefighter-Chris Burkett. The children really loved being able to sit in the fire truck and had a blast. Later, Fire Fighter Colby Taylor and Fire Marshal Mike Thibedeau also joined camp to show what firefighters have to wear for a call and other important safety tips. At the end of the visit, the children were given their own "Fire fighter" helmets. Many thanks to Chief Flynn for helping organize this special visit. The children will be presenting what they have learned next week at our camps big event day on Tuesday! Spots are still available in Session 2 and 3 of the Sunrise and Tween Camp, and session 3 of Kids Korner Camp.
