Suffield Girls to Open Class L Basketball Tournament on Road

SUFFIELD, CT — The road to Mohegan Sun starts Monday and Tuesday, as Suffield High School and 129 other high school girls basketball teams begin their quests for state championships in the CIAC tournaments.

An 11-9 regular season record gave Suffield the No. 19 seed and an opening round away game in the Class L tournament. The Wildcats will travel to No. 14 Capital Prep (12-6) Tuesday at 7 p.m.

Other first-round Class L matchups involving teams from Patch towns in Hartford and Tolland counties are:

• No. 25 Watertown (8-12) at No. 8 Windsor (15-5)
• No. 30 Foran (6-14) at No. 3 Farmington (17-3)
• No. 23 Lyman Hall (10-10) at No. 10 Wethersfield (14-6)
• No. 18 Rockville (12-8) at No. 15 East Lyme (13-7)
• No. 26 Tolland (8-12) at No. 7 Pomperaug (15-5)
• No. 29 Avon (7-13) at No. 4 Daniel Hand (17-3)
