Suffield Golfer Claims CT Junior PGA Championship
He won the title in a playoff, while the girls division winner romped to a 9-shot victory.

NEW HAVEN, CT — There were two entirely different scenarios that emerged from the boys and girls divisions during the second day of the Connecticut Junior PGA Championship Wednesday at The Course at Yale.
Austin Rupp of Suffield and Jonathan Elkins of South Deerfield, Mass. tied for the 36-hole lead at 2-over par 142, forcing a playoff which Rupp captured to win the championship. Jason Liu of Windsor shot a 68 Wednesday to finish alone in third place at 3-over 143.
On the girls' side, Angela Garvin of Feeding Hills, Mass. began the second round two strokes behind Pacharada Treekul of New Britain, but scorched the course with a 4-under par 66 to finish at 1-under 139, nine strokes in front of Treekul.
