Suffield Is Hiring For Public Works Position

The town is looking to fill a full-time Public Works role tied to road work, snow response and public grounds maintenance.

SUFFIELD, CT — Suffield is hiring for a full-time position, with town officials looking to add another employee to the Public Works team ahead of the April 9 application deadline.

According to the Town of Suffield, the job involves road maintenance, paving, drainage work, snow removal, emergency response, and upkeep of parks, fields, public grounds, and town facilities. The position is scheduled for 40 hours per week.

Town officials said the Highwayman 4 role also includes operating heavy equipment and plow vehicles while serving residents in a professional, customer-focused manner.

The posted wage is $26.36 an hour under the union contract.

Applicants must have a valid driver’s license, along with a CDL Class B license or the ability to obtain one. The town is also seeking someone with experience operating heavy equipment and performing manual labor, along with availability for emergency call-ins at night and on weekends.
