A man was transported to a hospital following a fire at his home.

SUFFIELD, CT — A fire caused extensive damage to a Suffield home Friday morning, and an occupant was transported to a hospital.
Fire Chief Charles Flynn said the fire on Boston Neck Road was reported around 7 a.m. Upon arrival, firefighters saw flames and heavy smoke in the rear of the single-family home.
A resident of the home who suffers from mobility issues was rescued and transported to a local hospital. Flynn said he did not know the man's condition at this time.
