Suffield to Host Free Child Car Safety Event

Public safety agencies from Enfield, South Windsor and the Connecticut State Police will also be on hand for the event.

SUFFIELD, CT — Car seats and boosters provide protection for infants and children in an automobile crash, yet car crashes are a leading cause of death for children 1 to 13 years of age (National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, U.S. Department of Transportation).

The Suffield Police Department, in conjunction with the Suffield Volunteer Ambulance Association, will be conducting a child car safety event in support of the 2017 National Child Passenger Safety Week which begins September 17th and concludes on September 23rd (http://cpsboard.org/event/child-passenger-safety-week-2017/).

This event, scheduled for Saturday, Sept. 23 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Spaulding School, 945 Mountain Road, Suffield, welcomes residents of any community to attend and receive a free car seat safety inspection and free car seat installation assistance.
