Interim Suffield Police Chief Anthony Riello will be staying on for an additional year, following a vote by the Police Commission this week.Commissioners voted 5-1 to extend Riello's contract, which as to expire Dec. 31, 2015, for an additonal year, the <a href="http://www.journalinquirer.com/towns/suffield/police-commission-ends-search-extends-interim-chief-s-contract/article_8f21dd9a-a018-11e5-995a-fba341c6a69c.html" rel="noopener nofollow" target="_blank">Journal Inquirer reported</a>.At the same meeting, the commission promoted Lt. Richard Brown to the position of captain. He will be sworn into his new post on Monday, Dec. 14 at 5 p.m. at the police department headquarters.The changes came about because of the recent resignations of Chief Michael Manzi and Captain Craig Huntley.
