Suffield Legend to Receive Coach of the Year Award

He will be honored by the Connecticut High School Coaches Association at their 52nd annual Recognition Dinner.

The Connecticut High School Coaches Association will honor 27 coaches, including a longtime Suffield sportsman, as Outstanding Coaches of the Year this spring.

Joe Sinicrope, a 2004 inductee of the Suffield Athletic Hall of Fame, will be presented the indoor track coach of the year award. This past December, the track at Suffield High School was dedicated in his honor.

An Athletic Director of the Year and three special awards will also be presented at the 52nd annual Recognition Dinner on May 12 at 7 p.m. in Kay’s Pier at the Aqua Turf in Southington.

Tickets for the event are $46 and may be obtained by contacting John Fontana at 860-628-4122. No tickets will be held to be paid the night of the dinner. All tickets must be paid in advance.

This year no tickets will be sold at the door; however, tickets will be collected at the door the evening of the event.

To be honored are Athletic Director of the Year Betty Remigino-Knapp of West Hartford schools; Joe Aresimowicz, state representative, with the Joseph J. Fontana Distinguished Service Award; Michael Pitruzzello of Middletown High School with the Thomas J. Monahan CHSCA Honor Award; and Vern Pinder of Spalding, with the Joseph Calvanese Sponsorship Award.
