Suffield Obituary: Barbara Gardner, 87

Condolences to her family and friends.

Barbara M. Gardner, 87, of Suffield, beloved wife of the late Roger W. Gardner passed away peacefully Thursday, September 17, 2015.

Born October 15, 1927 in Springfield, MA daughter of the late Ernest E. and Grace J. (Fairbanks) Noyes. She moved to Suffield in 1951 where she lived for the remainder of her life. She was an awarded seamstress and will forever be remembered for her homemade blueberry pies. A kind and compassionate woman Barbara was also a member of the First Church of Christ Congregational in Suffield where she served as a choir mother. She also was active with the Girl Scouts, and with her late husband was a member of the Nutmeg Chapter of the Antique Truck Club. Barbara and Roger were not only partners in marriage but partners in business where she managed the finances for the Roger W. Gardner construction company.

She is survived by two daughters, Jane D’Agostino and her husband Richard of Westfield, MA; Gail Haines and her husband James of Suffield; a brother, Richard Noyes and his wife Norma of Agawam, MA; a sister, Marion Hageman of Ludlow, MA; a sister-in-law, Frances Noyes of West Springfield, MA; four grandchildren, Brian D’Agostino, Amy Levan and her husband Scott; Jason Haines and his wife Amy, Michael Haines and his wife Michelle, five great grandchildren, Tess and Ryan Haines, Charlotte and Amelia Levan, and Creedence D’Agostino. She was predeceased by a brother Ernest Noyes, Jr.

Her family will receive friends Friday, September 25, 2015 from 6-8 PM at Nicholson & Carmon Funeral Home, 443 East St. N. (Rt. 159), Suffield. Funeral services will be held Saturday, September 26, 2015, 10 AM, at First Church of Christ, Congregational, 81 High St., Suffield. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery, Suffield.
