Suffield Obituary: Denese Skawski, 80

Denese M. Skawski, 80, of Suffield, beloved wife of DanoMi “Dan” Skawski passed away Sunday, January 17, 2016.

Born in Carshalton, England on January 31, 1935 she was the daughter of the late Nixon and Marjorie (Hamerton) Radley-Gardner. She grew up in England, married and traveled around as a proud Air Force wife before settling in Suffield 44 years ago. Denese spent many hours in her English style garden. She enjoyed showing the boxers she raised. Her greatest love was the time she spent with her family, especially her grandchildren.

Besides Dan her husband of 57 years, she is survived by a son, Zigmund “Zig” Skawski and his wife Charlotte of Suffield; a sister, Annette Miceli and her husband Gene of Bozeman, MT; a brother, Ian Radley-Gardner and his wife Barbara of York, England; three grandchildren, Chelsea Viets and her husband Daniel, SSgt Bryce Skawski and his wife Jenna, Christian Skawski; and a great granddaughter, Lavinia Viets; and her many nieces and nephews here in the US and in England. She was predeceased by a daughter, Nicolette Skawski.

Her family will receive friends Sunday, January 24, 2016 from 1-2 PM at the Nicholson & Carmon Funeral Home, 443 East St. N., Suffield followed by a Celebration of Life at 2 PM at the funeral home. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery, Suffield.
