Suffield Obituary: Dorothy Besko, 80

Dorothy “Dottie” K. Besko, 80, of Suffield, beloved wife of 58 years to the late Thaddeus “Ted” Besko passed away at home surrounded by her loving family Thursday, June 23, 2016.

Born March 4, 1936 in Chicopee, MA daughter of the late John and Angie (Zuchowicz) Kucharzyk, she lived in West Springfield, MA before moving to Suffield 33 years ago. Dottie was employed for over 30 years at Hamilton Standard before retiring and stayed connected to Hamilton Standard by being a member of the Management Club. She was a parishioner of Sacred Heart Church, Suffield. She enjoyed playing Bingo and spending her summers at her home in Hampton, NH.

Dottie was able to enjoy a nice retirement and took many cruises with her husband as well as her extended family, she was an excellent cook and enjoyed hosting family dinners and holidays, but most of all her family was the most important thing to her.

She is survived by a daughter, Debbie Saunders and her husband Jay of Feeding Hills, MA; a brother, Eddie Kucharzyk of West Springfield, MA; a brother-in-law, Joe Shayda; two sisters-in-law, Helen Anusiewicz and Helen Besko; three grandchildren, Tara Duso and her husband Todd, Kelly Reilly and her husband James Gray King, Ryan Harlow; a step grandchild, Erin Saunders; great grandchildren, Colette Duso and Collin. She was predeceased by a daughter, Donna Harlow; a sister, Barbara Shayda.

Her family will receive friends Sunday, June 26, 2016 from 4-7 PM at Nicholson & Carmon Funeral Home, 443 East St. N., Suffield. Family and friends may gather Monday, June 27, 2016, 9:00 AM followed by a Mass of Christian Burial, 10:00 AM, at Sacred Heart Church, Suffield. Burial will be in Agawam Center Cemetery, Agawam, MA.
