Suffield Obituary: Eleanor Miler, 92

Condolences to her family and friends.

Eleanor Marie (Gagnon) Miler, 92, of Suffield, formerly of Windsor Locks, beloved wife of the late Edward James Miler passed away Tuesday, December 12, 2017.

Born June 17, 1925 in Brockton, MA daughter of the late Edward and Dorothy (Johnson) Gagnon. She graduated from New Bedford High School. Eleanor lived in the Poquonock section of Windsor for 45 years before moving to Windsor Locks in 2000 and then to Suffield in 2013.

She was co-owner of Mascherino’s Garden Center & Hardware for many years before retiring. She was a parishioner of St, Joseph Church most her life and was active with the Ladies Guild. Eleanor was a member of VFW and DAV.

She was predeceased by two sons, Michael and Ronald Miler; a brother, Robert Gagnon; two sisters, Helen Hicks and Louise Gagnon.

Special thanks to all the staff at Rivers Watch at Suffield by the River and Suffield House for the care given to Eleanor the last few years.

Family and friends may gather Saturday, December 16, 2017, 9:00 AM at Carmon Poquonock Funeral Home, 1816 Poquonock Ave. (Rt. 75), Poquonock section of Windsor followed by a Mass of Christian Burial, 10:00 AM, at St. Joseph Church, Poquonock. Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery, Poquonock.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made Alzheimer’s Association, CT Chapter, 200 Executive Boulevard, Ste 4B, Southington, CT 06489-1058.
