
Elizabeth “Betty” Marinone, 87, lifelong resident of Windsor Locks, beloved wife of the late Joseph R. Marinone, Jr., passed away peacefully on Monday, May 30, 2016 at home surrounded by her family.
She was born on September 11, 1928, in Windsor Locks, a daughter of the late Edward and Bernadine (Colli) Hayden. Betty graduated from Suffield High School Class of 1946. She was employed for twenty two years at the Donut Kettle and later at Daley’s Florist and Off Track Betting.
Betty was a faithful communicant of St. Mary and St. Robert Bellarmine Churches. She was a hard worker all her life and enjoyed her grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great-great grandson. Betty will be remembered for her random acts of kindness especially sharing her homemade breads at her doctor’s appointments and stops
around town.

She is survived by her four children, Joseph E. Marinone and his wife Jean of Windsor Locks, Mark R. Marinone and his wife Debra of Windsor Locks, William F. Marinone and his wife Rosemary of Mattapoisett, MA, and Joyce M. Farr and her husband Stephen of Windsor Locks; eight grandchildren, Nicole, Andrew, Dorian, Alia, Jennifer I., Gina, Lynne, and Jennifer H.; nine great-grandchildren, Taylor, Lauren, Rachael, Peyton, Natalie, Daniel, Madison, Colin, and Ian; one great-great grandson Tyler; two brothers, Edward Hayden of FL and Bruce Hayden and his wife Laudy of SC; two sisters, Claire Montemerlo and her husband Lawrence of Windsor Locks and Deanie Hajdasz and her husband John of West Hartford and so many other family members and friends. In addition to her husband Joseph she was predeceased by two sisters Beverly Albani and Janet Marinone.
Relatives and friends may join the family for calling hours on Wednesday, June 1, 2016 from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Windsor Locks Funeral Home, 441 Spring Street, Windsor Locks. A funeral procession will gather on Thursday, June 2, 2016 at 9:00 a.m. for a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. at St. Mary Church, 42 Spring Street, Windsor Locks. Burial will follow in St. Mary Cemetery.
