Suffield Obituary: Frank Morena, 97

Frank Morena, 97, of West Suffield, formerly of Hartford, beloved husband of the late Michelina Morena, passed away peacefully on Friday, December 25, 2015 at St. Francis Hospital.

Born in Teggiano, Salerno, Italy to the late Vito and Raffaela (Carrano) Morena, he came to the US in 1954 and lived in Hartford for many years before relocating to West Suffield after his wife’s passing. Frank was a member of Sacred Heart Church in Suffield and was very devoted to the Catholic Church. He enjoyed gardening and making his own wine, but his main focus was his loving family who will miss him dearly.

He is survived by his daughter Frances Morena-D’Elia of West Suffield; his grandchildren Rocco D’Elia and his wife Erin of West Haven, Franco D’Elia and Paul D’Elia, both of Suffield; his great-grandson Matteo D’Elia and many loving nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews.

His family will receive friends on Tuesday, December 29 from 4 PM to 7 PM at Nicholson & Carmon Funeral Home, 443 East St. N, Suffield. Friends and family may gather at 9 AM Wednesday, December 30 at the funeral home for a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 AM held at Sacred Heart Church, 446 Mountain Rd, Suffield, followed by entombment in Mount St. Benedict Cemetery Mausoleum, Bloomfield.
