Suffield Obituary: Frederick Allen, Jr., 84

Condolences to his family and friends.

Frederick E. Allen, Jr., 84, of Windsor Locks, beloved husband of Joan (Jache) for sixty years passed away on Friday, October 23, 2015 at The Suffield House.

He was born on December 11, 1930 in Buffalo, New York and was the son of the late Frederick and Dorothy (Wynant) Allen, Sr. Frederick proudly served his country in the United States Navy during the Korean War. He was a Windsor Locks resident for over fifty years. He worked for Kaman in Bloomfield, Ensign Bickford Industries in Simsbury, and Hughes Aircraft where he retired in 1992.

Frederick had a love for traveling with Joan, especially to Naples, FL for the winter and Narragansett, RI for the summer where they enjoyed boating, fishing, and relaxing at the beach. He was an avid sports fan, and is going to be inducted into the Windsor Locks Athletic Hall of Fame with his wife Joan this November for being true sports fans.

In addition to his wife he is survived by two sons Peter T. Allen and his wife Laura of Chicopee, MA and their children Stephen Morin and his wife Jessica of South Carolina, Zachary and Elizabeth Allen both of Chicopee, MA; and Michael J. Allen and his wife Christina of Broad Brook, CT and their children Seth Allen and his wife Ashley of Plymouth, CT and their daughter Aubree, and Jamie Allen of Brooklyn, NY; he is also survived by two special nephews, Brian (Sue) and Jay Kennedy, and many friends from Connecticut and Rhode Island.

All services will be private, Windsor Locks Funeral Home has been entrusted with the arrangements.

Memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, 200 Executive Blvd., Suite 4B, Southington, CT 06489 in honor of his wife Joan, who courageously battles the disease.
