Suffield Obituary: Janet Lapinski, 80

Condolences to her family and friends.

Janet Aidan Lapinski, 80, of Suffield, beloved wife of the late William J. Lapinski, Sr. passed away Wednesday, March 7, 2018 at Mercy Hospital, Springfield, MA with family present.

Born January 1, 1938 in Boston, MA daughter of the late George and Frances (Crane) Schuckert. A graduate from St. Michael's High School in Brattleboro, VT, Janet lived in Springfield, MA most her life prior to enjoying the last few years in Suffield. She had a lengthy career with the telephone company, starting her career in 1956 as a PBX Instructor for New England Telephone & Telegraph and retiring from AT&T Communications in 1992.

Following her AT&T retirement, she enjoyed a second career at UnumProvident in Windsor. She was co-owner of Our Place Restaurant with her best friend and husband, Bill. Janet was an avid communicant of Holy Name Parish for over 50 years, volunteering at many school and parish events. Janet was devoted to her family and a very proud grandmother, supporting many endeavors and always believing in their abilities.

She is survived by a son, William J. Lapinski, Jr. and his wife, Mary of Suffield; two daughters, Kathryn Tessier and her husband, David of Greenfield, MA, Elizabeth Coleman and her husband, Jeffrey of Longmeadow, MA; eight grandchildren, William III and Jonathan Lapinski, Ashlee, Erick, Dylan, and David Tessier, Caitlin and Emma Coleman; a sister-in-law Norma Lapinski-Stein and many nieces, nephews, grandnieces, and grandnephews. She was predeceased by her beloved sister, JoAnne Jubb, brothers-in-law, Lawrence Jubb, Sr. and Edward Lapinski, and godson, Lawrence Jubb, Jr.

Her family would like to extend special thanks to Janet's many friends, Suffield Commons neighbors and caregivers.

Her family will receive friends Saturday March 17, 2018 from 9am to 11am at Nicholson & Carmon Funeral Home, 443 East St N. (Route 159), Suffield. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 11:30 am at Sacred Heart Church in Suffield. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery Greenfield, MA at the convenience of her family.
