
Maynard “Red” Barton Smith, 94, of Suffield and formerly of Windsor, beloved husband of the late Mary (Miller) Smith and the late Lavinia Grant Moore Smith passed away Friday, November 6, 2015.
Born April 30, 1921 in Newport, NH son of the late Chester and Beatrice (Barton) Smith. He lived in Windsor for 44 years before moving to Suffield 18 years ago. He served with the U.S. Army during WWII, after the war he was employed 43 years with Hamilton Standard before retiring in 1986. Maynard was a member of the Hamilton Standard Retirement Club the Management Club, Windsor Golden Fellowship and a former member of the Windsor Elks Lodge 2060 BPOE. In his free time he enjoyed his flower garden, golfing and bowling.
He is survived by two sons, Herbert N. Smith of TX, Peter J. Smith of VA; two step children, Carol Grant Macari and her husband Raymond Macari, Jr. of Suffield, James Grant and his wife Mary Ann of Suffield; a brother, Herbert Smith of NH; grandchildren, Adam, Daniel and Jasper Smith, Raymond Macari, III, Ryan Macari, Allison Macari-Wilhelm, Jennifer Shufelt, Heather Grant and James Grant, II, great grandchildren, Levi and Iris, Andrew and Paige.

Funeral services are private and at the convenience of his family.
