
Michael W. Anacki, 69, of Suffield and formerly of West Suffield, passed away Saturday, April 30, 2016 at Hartford Hospital.
Born March 3, 1947 in Springfield, MA son of the late Walter and Frances (Smiegel) Anacki. Michael proudly served his country with the US Air Force during the Vietnam War as crew chief for the F101B Voodoo Jets at Griffiss AFB in Rome, NY and later for the F4 Phantom Jets at US AFB in Yokota, Japan. He was a member of the West Suffield V.F.W. Landry Sic Post 9544 who served as secretary and Chaplain. He took great pride in seeing his name inscribed on the Suffield War Memorial along with his father, uncles and friends who also served their country.
His first job as a teenager was working at Sheldon Dairy Farm in West Suffield, he later went on to work for CIGNA, Hasbro and Milton Bradley as an I.T. Specialist. His joys in life were Caribbean Sailing Cruises, NASCAR Racing, saltwater fishing in Mystic, his music collection, great movies, great food and the joy of cooking.

Special thanks to Dianna and Zimari and the entire nursing staff on the Bliss ICU unit at Hartford Hospital for their wonderful compassion and care given to Michael.
He is survived by a brother, John Anacki and his wife Gail of Chicopee, MA; a sister MaryLou Anacki of West Suffield; several cousins, Walter Anacki, Frances, Carol, Nancy, Jimmy, Sally, Susan and Barbara; and dear friends, Pam Hastings and Gene Skowron.

His family will receive friends Tuesday, May 3, 2016 from 4-6 PM at Nicholson & Carmon Funeral Home, 443 East St. N.(Rt. 159), Suffield with a prayer service at 5 PM. Burial with military honors will be Saturday, May 7, 2016 at 11 AM, in West Suffield Cemetery, West Suffield.
