Suffield Obituary: Robert Finnan, 89

Robert F. Finnan, 89, of Suffield and formerly of Enfield, entered into Eternal Life on Sunday Dec. 18, 2016 in Suffield.

He was born on April 6, 1927 in Enfield, son of the late Francis and Margaret (Denham) Finnan and resided in Enfield most of his life and then in Suffield. Robert proudly served his country honorably with the US Navy during WW II. Prior to retiring in 1989 Robert was employed with Hamilton Standard/Sundstrand for 38 years.

Robert is survived by his two children; Deborah Supernaugh and husband John of Alabama and Mark F. Finnan of Enfield, his three grandchildren; Sarah Finnan, Chad Finnan and Shawn Ratches, and three great-grandchildren. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his 1st wife Mary and 2nd wife Barbara, a son Michael Finnan and a sister Kathleen Chamberlain.

There are no calling hours. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday Dec. 23, 2106 at 10:00 a.m. in St. Joseph Church 140 S. Main St. Suffield. Interment with military honors will then follow in St. Patrick’s King Street Cemetery, Enfield.
