Suffield Obituary: Sheryl Woods, 63

Sheryl (Wentworth) Woods, 63, of Suffield, passed away Tuesday, March 20, 2018 at Johnson Memorial Hospital, Stafford, while surrounded by family.

Born January 28, 1955 in Hartford, daughter of the late John and Shirley (Sullivan) Wentworth, she lived in Suffield all her life. A graduate of Suffield High School and the University of Connecticut (Storrs), prior to retiring, Sheryl worked as a preschool teacher and reading tutor.

She was a member of Second Baptist Church, Suffield, and was an accomplished artist, writer and poet. Most of all Sheryl loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren who adored their Nana.

She is survived by her three children, Brandon Woods and his wife, Cara of West Hartford, Jonathan Woods and his wife, Lynn of Fairfax, VA, and Caitlin Woods of Tariffville; five grandchildren Annie, Charlotte, Molly, Henry and Finn; the father of her children, John Woods of Suffield; her five siblings and many nieces and nephews.

Her family will receive friends Monday, March 26, 2018 from 5-8 PM at Nicholson & Carmon Funeral Home, 443 East St. N. (Rt. 159), Suffield. A memorial Service will be held Tuesday, March 27, 2018, 10:30 AM, at Second Baptist Church, 100 N. Main St., Suffield.
