
Thomas J. Modzelesky, Sr., 98, of Suffield, beloved husband of the late Rose (Phillips) Modzelesky, passed away Tuesday, July 11, 2017 at St. Francis Hospital, Hartford.
Born November 11, 1918 in Suffield, son of the late Peter and Mary (Kasulinous) Modzelesky, he had lived in Suffield his whole life. Tom was employed by Roncari Industries as a truck driver for 40 years before retiring.
He was an avid golfer, he had golf memberships at the Suffield Country Club for 30 years and then Oak Ridge Country Club for the remaining years he golfed, and he was an avid Red Sox fan. Tom was a member of AA for 70 years.

He is survived by three sons, Thomas J. Modzelesky, Jr. and his wife, Celeste of Suffield, James P. Modzelesky and his wife, Lynn of Naples, FL, Kenneth P. Modzelesky and his wife, Susan of Feeding Hills, MA; two daughters, Susan M. Bergeron and her husband, Kenneth of Enfield, Karen A. Plecnik and her husband, John of Belmont, NC; a sister, Eleanor Manning and her husband, Daniel of Westfield, MA; 21 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren; 2 nieces and a nephew. He was predeceased by a brother, Stanley Modzelesky and two sisters, Celia Modzelesky and Helen Zukowsky.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Saturday, July 15, 2017, 10:00 AM, at St. Joseph Church, 140 South Main St., Suffield. Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery, Suffield.
