Suffield Offers Prescription Drug Savings Card

Card available to all residents provide savings on various services and products.

The town of Suffield is now offering a prescription drug savings card free to all residents, according to a release on the town's website.

The card, offered through Connecticut Conference of Municipalities and ProAct Inc., provides an average of 45 percent off the pharmacy’s regular price (about 20 percent off name brand and 70 percent off generic drugs). It’s also good for eye exams, glasses and contact lenses and on Lasik surgery. Hearing products and services are also covered.

“I am very happy to share with you a free prescription discount card program,” said First Selectman Edward McAnaney in a letter on the town’s website. “It’s a pleasure that local government can bring our citizens a benefit without a cost attached to it.”

The card can be used as often as needed for the whole family and for veterinary prescriptions for pets, according to the release.
