Suffield Parks & Rec Employee On Paid Leave During Investigation
A reported incident of child abuse or neglect is being investigated by Suffield police.

SUFFIELD, CT — An employee of the town's Parks and Recreation Department has been placed on paid administrative leave while an investigation is conducted into a reported incident of suspected child abuse or neglect.
On Thursday, a town employee reported an incident had allegedly taken place on July 3, though not at a town-related activity or program. The alleged incident was reported to the Director of Parks and Recreation, according to a news release issued by the office of First Selectman Melissa Mack.
The Director of Parks and Recreation immediately notified the Suffield Police Department and the Department of Children and Families. Subsequently, the question of whether the town employee should have reported the incident sooner was raised, according to the release.

The First Selectman’s office immediately began an administrative investigation and requested a criminal investigation into the issue, and the employee was placed on paid administrative leave during the process, according to the release.
