Suffield Police Apprehend Fugitive From Justice

The man is wanted on four felony arrest warrants in the state of Maine.

SUFFIELD, CT — A fugitive with four active felony arrest warrants from the state of Maine was taken into custody in Suffield Thursday after local police received information he was staying in town.

The Aroostook County, Maine Sheriffs’ Department advised Suffield police that a person wanted by that agency on active arrest warrants was believed to be staying in Suffield. Further investigation and collaboration between the two law enforcement agencies resulted in officers of the Suffield Police Department locating Eldon Jandreau, 62, at 65 Susan Drive, Capt. Christopher McKee said.

The four arrest warrants date from 2016 to March 2018 for felony theft crimes committed in Aroostook County, Maine. Jandreau was cooperative and taken into custody without incident, McKee said.

He was charged with being a fugitive from justice, and was held overnight on a $50,000 bond. He was arraigned Friday in Enfield Superior Court.

Extradition back to the state of Maine will be coordinated by the Connecticut State’s Attorney’s Office in conjunction with the Office of the District Attorney in Aroostook County, Maine.
