Suffield Police Arrest Pair of Women on Narcotics Charges

They were charged after narcotics and drug paraphernalia were found in a vehicle in which they were traveling.

SUFFIELD, CT — A pair of women from Vermont were arrested by Suffield police Sunday after they got into a fight after crashing a car on the Enfield-Suffield Bridge.

Around 2:30 p.m., a westbound vehicle crossing the Route 190 bridge crossed the center lane and struck the bridge. The vehicle continued to drive until reaching Mountain Laurel Way, where it was stopped at the side of the road, police said.

The driver and passenger got into a physical altercation, and subsequent investigation yielded narcotics and drug paraphernalia in the vehicle, police said.

Ashley Hall, 28, of Hartland, Vt., was charged with illegal possession of narcotics, use and possession of drug paraphernalia, second-degree breach of peace, evading responsibility, operating an unregistered motor vehicle and failure to maintain lane. She was released on a $7,500 nonsurety bond.

Jocelyn Loomis, 27, of Putney, Vt., was charged with illegal possession of narcotics, use and possession of drug paraphernalia and second-degree breach of peace. She was released on a $4,000 nonsurety bond.

Both women are scheduled to appear in Enfield Superior Court Dec. 27.
