Suffield Police Investigating Donut Shop Burglary

An early morning burglary was reported to police Wednesday.

SUFFIELD, CT — Suffield police are investigating an early morning burglary which occurred Wednesday at the Dunkin' Donuts on Mountain Road.

At 2:07 a.m., police received a 9-1-1 call from an employee of the shop that an unknown male had gained entry into the rear of the business. Responding officers arrived on scene in just over two minutes, at which time they learned that the suspect had fled the scene in an unknown direction, Capt. Christopher McKee said.

After ensuring the scene was safe, officers began a preliminary investigation. The suspect is described as a thinly built white male, approximately 5-feet-5, wearing a black hooded sweatshirt and blue jeans. A beige or tan colored sedan was seen in the area around the time of the crime and may be involved, McKee said.

It is not known if this incident is related to other previously reported burglaries at Dunkin' Donut franchises in the region. Personnel of the Suffield Police Department are working with surrounding towns and other regional police departments as part of their ongoing investigative efforts, McKee said.
