Suffield Police Update CVS Shoplifting Case
Two men believed to be involved in a recent series of larcenies were arrested Wednesday in Enfield.
SUFFIELD, CT — Police believe they have found the vehicle and individuals involved in a recent series of shoplifting incidents at the Suffield CVS store.
Earlier this week, Suffield Patch and various media outlets published photos and a description of a suspect seen on surveillance video taking items from the Mountain Road store, and a photo of a vehicle believed to be involved with him.
Around 1:49 p.m. Wednesday, Suffield police officers conducting undercover surveillance on several locations in Enfield related to the investigation located the red colored Saturn sedan involved in several of the previous shopliftings at CVS. The Suffield officers maintained mobile surveillance of the suspect vehicle as it traveled through the town of Enfield, and officers of the Enfield Police Department arrived and stopped the vehicle on Lincoln Street in that town, Capt. Christopher McKee said.

The two occupants were identified and the red colored Saturn sedan was discovered to be an unregistered car with improper license plates attached to the vehicle. The occupants were arrested by Enfield police for offenses stemming from the motor vehicle stop, McKee said.
The driver, Jeremiah Fitzgerald, 26, of no certain address, was charged with operating a vehicle with a suspended driver’s license and misuse of marker plates. The passenger, Michael Tatavitto, 28, whose last known address was 38-B Church Street in Enfield, was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia.

As a result of the cooperative efforts between Suffield and Enfield police, significant investigative leads were developed relating to the larcenies in Suffield. Additional arrests for these larcenies are forthcoming by the Suffield Police Department, McKee said.
