Suffield Referendum Voting to Bring Traffic Problems

Police will be on hand to help direct traffic flow Thursday.

A townwide community referendum will take place Thursday, Oct. 8. Suffield Middle School will serve as the town’s polling site, and the town registrar advises there may be up to four thousand voters over the course of the day.

There will be greatly-increased traffic flow in the parking lot between the middle school and McAlister School on this day. The traffic flow will be precisely the location where students are dropped off in the morning and picked up at dismissal.

Voters will be directed to park in this lot, a large portion of which will be reserved for this purpose. The school district has made some arrangements to accommodate the increased traffic flow: the staff has been directed to park in alternate locations, and police will be on hand to assist with the traffic flow.
