Suffield Resident Recognized for Academic Achievement

Brianna Bishop of Suffield was among 75 students recently recognized for their academic achievement at American International College in Springfield, Mass.

Students, faculty, friends and relatives gathered for AIC's annual Academic Awards and Class Night, April 30 in the Griswold Theatre. Senior class president Elliot Hardy presented opening and closing remarks, while Johnni Dideriksen, class valedictorian, delivered the Ivy Oration.

Bishop received the Paul Thissel Award for Modern Languages. She is a junior majoring in Interdepartmental Science.

Bishop is also a member of the AIC women's basketball team, for which she averaged 4.9 points and 1.8 rebounds per game. She was also tied for second on the team with 25 three-point shots made.
