Suffield Tries To Make Dog License Renewals Smoother With New Email Alerts

Officials said the new system is meant to make June dog license renewals easier for residents.

SUFFIELD, CT — The Suffield Town Clerk’s Office is rolling out a new reminder system ahead of the town’s annual dog license renewal period.

Town officials said the office will now email residents if their dog’s rabies vaccination expired the previous month, giving owners a chance to update records before renewals begin in June.

According to the Town Clerk’s Office, a valid rabies certificate must be on file in order to renew a dog license. Officials said many residents have already received the new email notices and responded by sending in updated vaccination records.

Certificates can be mailed, emailed to townclerk@suffieldct.gov, or dropped off in person at the Town Clerk’s Office.

Dog license renewals in Suffield begin June 1, 2026, and can be completed online or in person.
