Suffield's Self Defense and Martial Arts Program was a Success!

Suffield Parks and Recreation Department partnered up with Integrity Martial Arts to offer Self Defense classes to the community.

Suffield Parks and Recreation Department's Self Defense and Martial Arts Program was a Success!

Learning Self Defense and Martial Arts is always important but especially critical in today’s climate. On Thursday, March 21, Suffield’s own-Jonathan Metcalf owner of Integrity Martial Arts of Enfield generously donated his time once again to give back to the community and instructed three informative and incredibly well attended programs for the Suffield Parks and Recreation Department at Spaulding School. In the first class, participants in grades K-2 learned about focus, discipline and respect while having fun. Jonathan led the students in enjoyable exercises with a focus on teaching important life skills to the children. In the next class, students in Grades 3-8 learned basic martial arts techniques while also concentrating on building discipline, focus and confidence. In the final class of the evening, Adults learned and took part in a variety of exercises and scenarios focusing on the necessity of being prepared, protecting themselves and families and the important and valuable lessons of Self-Defense. Many thanks to Jonathan for instructing these meaningful programs for the Suffield Community.
