Summer Fun Starts at the Suffield Parks and Recreation Department!

We have a variety of fun programs and camps for the whole family right here in Suffield with the Parks and Recreation Department. With attentive and friendly staff, affordable prices and programs that will make you and your family smile, summer is sure to be memorable. Kids Korner/Morning Munchkins Camp is for children ages 3 through those entering grade 2. Morning Munchkins is specifically designed for children age three which is held in conjunction with Kid’s Korner Camp. Children will enjoy arts & crafts, parachute and water play, story time, games, special events and much more!

Sunrise Day Camp is for children in grades two through five will be held at Sunrise Park. Children will participate in many fun activities including arts and crafts, games, sports, special events, learning about the environment, nature and swimming lessons along with other enjoyable interactive activities.

Tween Adventure Camp

Tween camp is for children in grades six through eight and is also held at Sunrise Park. Children will participate in adventure games and play a variety of sports, team building exercises, swim lessons and special events. There will be trips to the Suffield Academy Outdoor Leadership Center, with a ropes course and climbing walls, team building games that is a great adventure for everyone! New

Other specialized programs and camps include some of our most popular favorite camps and some newly added for 2019 including many new adult programs including:

Paint It Like Picasso, Crafty Kids Camp, Crafty Creations, Once Upon a Cake, Kids Classic Cooking and Healthy Habits, Youth Pick-Up Basketball, Swimming Lessons, Intro to Swim, Tennis Lessons, Tennis Camp, Tennis For Tots, Horseback Riding, Performing Arts Summer Theater Program, Baseball Clinics, Softball Clinics, UK International Soccer Camp. PopStar Singing Program, Yoga at Babb’s Beach, Mindfulness and Yoga in the Morning at Spaulding School, Cupcake Decorating for Kids, Cupcake Decorating for Adults, Powerburn Fitness Program, Tabata Boot Camp, Suffield new Running Club for families, Field Hockey and Volleyball Camps. We have great programs for the whole family to enjoy and hope you will be a part of all of the new incredible summer memories we will create this year.

Suffield Parks and Recreation also offers inclusive Special Needs Programs and Group Outings

These programs foster friendships, socialization, promote community involvement and independence. The group enjoys educational presentations, fitness activities, crafting classes, games and evening trips that are inclusive. We also go on many fun outings throughout the year. The program is geared for high school students through adult. Enrollment is on a first come first paid basis. Volunteers are always welcome. If you wish to join the group and receive notifications of upcoming events you must pre-register. Please contact Donna Carney-Bastrzycki, Director of Special Programs at (860)-668-3862. We have many enjoyable events planned for the summer including Field Night, Dinner and Ice-Cream fun, June Prom-Community Dance in collaboration with the 2nd Baptist Church, Mini Horse Night and Bingo night fun!
